    Used 2016 Yoder Cheyenne

I am planning on going with a good friend on Saturday to pick up a used Yoder Cheyenne built about 2016. He was doing some research on the internet before we go and said this unit was made with 3/16" steel and had drafting problems. Anyone have one of these and have any advice? I feel it's a...

    Pork butts for coworkers

Some coworkers sampled my pulled pork at work last week and asked if I would make them some. I'm happy with how these turned out. Rubbed with meat church honey hog and smoked with cherry and hickory splits.

    Always check your grease drains

I've only been smoking a little over a year, and I have watched a lot of videos on techniques and tips but not a lot of people mention watching the drain. Maybe it is common sense to most, but I never thought to regularly check if it's clogged or not. I always just let it do it's thing. I guess...

    Always check your grease drains

So I had the day off last Friday and decided to smoke 2 butts and a couple racks of ribs. Things were going great. At about the 6 hour mark I went out side and there was thick white smoke coming out of the exhaust stack. I figured I had an air flow blockage in the fire box, but when I opened it...

Tips for feeding a medium size gathering

I hadn't considered smoking in advance. I usually like ribs right off the smoker but i feel like pulled pork is usually better after sitting overnight in the juice. And as far as portioning ribs, i feel like thats a tough decision. Some people eat 1-2, or theres people that cam eat almost half...

Tips for feeding a medium size gathering

Hello all, last year I had a smallish, maybe 15 people, BBQ out at my parents land. I had smoked 2 pork shoulders and 2 racks of ribs, and my mom prepared a bunch of sides. Corn bread, beans, etc. We are planning on doing a little larger gathering this year, maybe 30-40 people. Simple math...

    No wrap ribs. An experiment

I meant no offense. If you're happy with the results thats the most important part! We all have different cookers, fuel sources, taste buds, etc. What works for one guy may not work for the next. Part of the fun is experimentation!

    No wrap ribs. An experiment

TThoSe Those look tasty too. I think its worth mentioning that I also didnt use a binder this time. I usually use yellow mustard before a rub. This time it was ribs, rub, smoke, sauce, and time.

    No wrap ribs. An experiment

Im sure this is a hotly debated topic, but i tried spritzing a couple times and I hadn't found a huge benefit. The racks didnt come out noticeably more moist than the ones that weren't spritzed. At least in my experience. I should try this again though without wrapping and spritz one rack and...

    No wrap ribs. An experiment

I tried the 3-2-1 method once and i was not a fan. The more meat i smoke, the more i realize that the meat needs to tell me when its done and not the clock. I know the 3-2-1 method works for some people, but my results were close to yours. They came out tough.

    No wrap ribs. An experiment

Someday i might get the courage to not pull the membrane off, but i ate a local joint in my area once that left the membrane on and I was not a fan. It was a kinda off putting. I have seen people score it, which i may try before going as far to completely leave it on

    No wrap ribs. An experiment

It is definitely my go to sauce. I would agree with you on the flavor, except i tried the mild one once and found it missing something. I think he leaves the peppers out of the mild. Medium is definitely my go too if i need a break from the heat.

    No wrap ribs. An experiment

Yes! Jimmy j's! I have to use the medium because my wife is sensitive to the heat but my absolute favorite is the xxx. I usually make a rack for myself with that sauce!

    No wrap ribs. An experiment

This weekend experimented with some ribs. In the past, I was a believer in the foil wrapped with brown sugar and honey. Yesterday, out of sheer laziness of not going to the store to buy more foil, i decided to give unwrapped a try again. For the record, I have tried unwrapped in the past but...

Middle of the road upgrade? Or go all out?

I really want to stay with an offset stick burner, and I might save up and get an outlaw pit because of the insulation. That or I have been tossing around the idea of putting my fabrication skills to use and build one. If I sourced some 20" pipe welding one up wouldn't be to bad. And I have all...

    Pork injection marinade

That is very close. I might have to try that one. Thanks!
