    New Pellet Grill

LOL Funny but I can at least speak for myself. I powerlift and my brother runs some of the biggest powerlifting meets in the country. He runs local, national and world meets. Crossfitters and vegans are what most of our jokes are about....that and the USAPL but I am probably talking over...

    New Pellet Grill

From what I heard, that is miss leading. I think there is actually a thread somewhere on here. The top area is more of a cold smoking area. I don't think the temp can get too high there with smoke. Look into and do some research on pellet grills. I am so happy I did and found Rec Tec.

    TRAEGER GRILLS!!!

I would just wait to see how some "real" "real" use is with the Weber. I've watched the videos from the BBQ guys that got to do a test run and it looks impressive but remember this is with a brand new grill. Personally, I'd want to wait 6 months to a year. My concern I would have is cooking...

    Lumberjack pellets sale?

I've been keeping my eye out my the two stores I go to which are Farm and Fleet(normal price $9.99 for 20 lbs.) and Rural King (normal price $8.99 for 20 lbs.). Last spring Rural King did a $5 a bag which a limit of (can't remember) but I stocked up. I've had to buy bags more than I thought I...

    TRAEGER GRILLS!!!

Give Rec Tec a look also I would suggest. Traeger is the company that got me looking into pellets grills and through lots of research, somehow I found Rec Tec and almost a year later, I couldn't be happier. The Weber SmokeFire does look very interesting and I will be watching when people...

Great point! If you already have a weber kettle....go for it.

    New Pellet Grill

I am also a bias Rec Tec owner so obviously I would suggest the 590 though I have the RT-700 (Bull) and absoletly love it but if you can wait...why not wait and see what comes out. That Weber SmokeFire has my attention for sure. Around this time last year I decided to go with a pellet grill...

    Vertical Smoker Suggestions

That's too bad they have to charge so much for shipping. That's the downside of a small company like SmokeDaddy. Maybe you can work something out with them? I can say(since I live fairly close) that I've seen their vertical smoker in person and it is built very well and is a beast! My...

SmokeDaddy Magnum P.I.G and Pellet Pro PID upgrade for my PB Austin XL

I agree with RCAlan - give Dennis a call and talk to him about it. I went with the Magnum just like RCAlan b/c it wasn't too much more money and wanted enough smoke. I have noticed the smoke does not last much longer than an hour even with the pump on a lower setting. That being said, I...

    Spider Grill Pellet Smoker

I am also very interested to see how those Weber SmokeFires do. Most likely I'm a Rec Tec'r for life but still always been a Weber fan and my Weber Genesis served me well for many many years. Though I have never really had to reach out to any Weber support. I just know they typically make...

SmokeDaddy Magnum P.I.G and Pellet Pro PID upgrade for my PB Austin XL

Thanks RCAlan - I appreciate this thread and all your tips. It allowed me right out of the gate to do things correctly. Honestly, without the tips, I would of just filled up the whole canister and hit like I've seen in SmokeDaddy videos and that causes a lot of bad white smoke. Allowing the...

Has anyone used the "Heavy D" Stick burner attachment?

I noticed from all my experiments that I needed to run at 250 the whole time to get the wood chunks I used (in foil) to burn up. The times I tried a lower temp, there was wood left and others had similar experiences. Your method of 270 and then 225 with the wood exposed....if it works, great...

SmokeDaddy Magnum P.I.G and Pellet Pro PID upgrade for my PB Austin XL

Bobbytruck - I used a cobalt 1 inch bit I got at Mendards. They didn't have any 1 1/8 bits there so I went with the 1 inch because I had heard it would still work. It did....the tube did not fit with the original hole but use the bit to make it slightly bigger moving around the bit. One...

SmokeDaddy Magnum P.I.G and Pellet Pro PID upgrade for my PB Austin XL

RCAlan - I second that. I wish in retrospect I would of held off on the heavy D and researched more. Though I think things happened the way they should of. People I talked to with the Heavy D loved it. But it just didn't do it for me cook after cook. Second time around I researched like...

Increasing smoke in a Louisiana Grills LG900

Maybe you should just go with the heavy D. I'm super happy with the magnum pig after 2 cooks. It was the exact flavor I was looking for. I'm happy to answer any questions you have.

SmokeDaddy Magnum P.I.G and Pellet Pro PID upgrade for my PB Austin XL

Big Chief sounds familiar....that is a smoker right? I'll look it up. I would always recommend someone tries pellet tube, wood chips on heat diffuser, meat loaf pan trick in front of fire pot with wood chips or some other kind of trick before going this route. I did all of that and even got...
