    Any activity in AZ?

Lol. I know The Pork Shop, I used to work in Florence and would drive past there on the way through QC. Their sausage is amazing as well.

    Any activity in AZ?

Ya I hear you Ray. I don't fault anyone for being restrictive, but I know everyone has an opinion on Covid and figured some people might be getting together anyway. I look forward to this coming to an end and being able to do normal smoking stuff again.

    Resteraunt Depot Prime meat

It may be store to store, but their press release says all stores during the pandemic. https://www.nj.com/business/2020/04/restaurant-depot-opens-all-stores-to-general-public-amid-coronavirus-pandemic.html

    Spare rib help

I have done a few pulled pork, but I made the rookie mistake of planning on them being done at a certain time, as we had company. The pork didnt agree. So I ended up pulling early. It was ok, not great. The second one was ok too, but I think that was a poor piece of meat. Maybe I need to venture...

    Resteraunt Depot Prime meat

Good call! They said on their Website that they would be open to the public to help people get the stuff they need ( And help their bottom line, with restaurants closed ) but that may not hold true everywhere.

    Any activity in AZ?

Hey! Ya I figured with the pandemic everything was at at a halt but I'm willing to take my chances LOL So far I've done ribs, pork butt, and a few different things using chuck roast in the place of brisket ( barbacoa tacos, poor man burnt ends, etc) and some chicken. I really want to master...

    Spare rib help

I've wanted to try not wrapping at all, but for some reason I'm hesitant. I always feel like they will be dry. I KNOW that's not the case if I do right and spritz, but maybe it's time I tried and see if that helps. Thanks!

    Resteraunt Depot Prime meat

Hey everyone. Yesterday by chance I found myself near a Restaurant Depot, which is a restaurant supplier, that sells in bulk. I went in on a whim, since I don't have a restaurant, and they are open to the public during this pandemic. What this means is, prime cuts of brisket, steaks, etc are...

    Any activity in AZ?

Hey all. I know there is still a pandemic going on and whatnot, and that not withstanding, anyone in AZ do anything as a group or get together to smoke or share smoking knowledge? I'm in Mesa and pretty much the only person I know who has a smoker, I'd love to meet some other local smokers...

Hey ya'll. I am fairly new to smoking, and have decided on mastering the basics before I got crazy on both meat and smokers. I have a Masterbuilt Sportsman Elite XL Pellet smoker. Moved on from a dyna glo Electric that sucked. Anyhow, last couple of racks I have done have been my best and 90%...

    Hey AZ!

I did. Unfortunately there is no way to filter to a locale, and I won't buy anything sight unseen. So shipping isn't an option

New Guy with an Old question LOL

Thanks Ray!! I did consider that, I am in Mesa, and I KNOW I wont work a fire in mid-August, its already miserable. I work from home so I have the time, but not the pool to jump into LOL. I dont think I am ready to move up, I just WANT to, but I don't know if I am ready. Thats why I want...

New Guy with an Old question LOL

That's a great story! I too have heard it's the cook not the smoker! I agree, 99.99%. I think you could argue that real indirect heat from an offset is definitely a "truer" ( for lack of a better term) way of smoking, and there are some things an electric just won't do. I would run lump and wood...

New Guy with an Old question LOL

Thanks SmokerJim! This is my smoker below. Dyna Glo digital electric smoker. My smoker has an exhaust chimney but no inlet vent so to speak. I have thought about leaving the chip delivery door open to facilitate more air flow, but I usually do wrap, almost universally. I use a rub if my own...
