    Here's a crazy idea....

LOL Okay, my curiousity has been satisfied. Too bad actually....

    Here's a crazy idea....

What I am thinking about is the wood chunks being no larger than the pellets. Based on my observations of my Pit Boss, the motor and auger would have no problem at all pushing them through. Question is, how would they burn compared to the pellets? Would they impart more of a real wood profile...

    Here's a crazy idea....

I know pellet smokers are for pellets only, but has anyone ever mixed some very small real wood pieces to the mix? Is so, what were the results? Very curious, Mark

SmokeDaddy Magnum P.I.G and Pellet Pro PID upgrade for my PB Austin XL

Alan, I'm very curious how you would compare the smoke flavour (amount) you get in your cooks now with the stock Austin XL controller. I've found that the stock controller in my PB was about right for me, but after switching to the PP I too found things lacking. Before the PB, we had a Big...

Increasing smoke in a Louisiana Grills LG900

Actually, I would like to ask you what your setup is. Reason being is I used to have a Big Chief and the smoke flavour it produced was way over the top - to the point where all you could taste was smoke. If I get the cold smoke generator I'm afraid I will end up with the same as what I had...

Increasing smoke in a Louisiana Grills LG900

Yeah, I'm eyeing up the cold smoke generator and will probably snag it next spring. Its too bad things end up working this way....

Increasing smoke in a Louisiana Grills LG900

210* all the way until cooked (burgers). I find hamburger to soak up more smoke than anything else so this was a good test for me to determine whether or not my taste buds were playing tricks on me.

Increasing smoke in a Louisiana Grills LG900

I am experiencing the same problem after dropping a SmokeDaddy PID into my PB. The original controller delivered a nice even smoke flavour but the temp swing was gross. The PID gives little to no smoke flavour at all. I called SmokeDaddy and spoke at length with the main dude. He basically...

Weber officially is entering the pellet smoker field

Gee. I hope he is getting advertising revenue from Weber for that.

Weber officially is entering the pellet smoker field

Replaced controller, temp sensor, auger and auger motor. Nothing left to replace but the fan. My last smoke had the temps swinging as much as 60*. For me 20-30* swings is no big deal if things settle down eventually. I have a feeling if I report this I will need to do another controller...

Weber officially is entering the pellet smoker field

Aren't you lucky. Mine has been dying since the day I bought it.

Weber officially is entering the pellet smoker field

Haha I'm probably the only human who doesn't own a cell. Which is why I find the wifi enabled smokers to be a complete waste of money.

Weber officially is entering the pellet smoker field

Sorry, I was wearing my tinfoil hat when I wrote that. I was referring to the fact that Microsoft was so slow at adopting Internet technology, they were behind the 8-ball for quite a while. And yeah, I do kind of miss the pre tech times. Life was much easier then, especially when you could...

Weber officially is entering the pellet smoker field

Frankly, I'm surprised it took this long for them to enter the fray. Kind of reminds me of Microsoft and this little known phenomenon called the Internet.

    Quick Brisket Question

Interesting. I will keep that in mind. It is difficult to determine just how much fat is on these things. It is clearly a crap shoot. I actually shared the idea with the wife after reading your post. I still have my nads; but I won't be making any soap lol.

Weber officially is entering the pellet smoker field

Interesting for sure. As I am rapidly losing patience with my PB I will certainly keep an eye on this.

    Quick Brisket Question

I'm in Canada and I made my purchase at a Costco. Canada = $$$. Strange how the new setup doesn't show the locations of members... If I even attempted to bring up the idea of making soap from fat my wife would have me strung up by the dingles lol. More power to you if you make use of it though.

    Quick Brisket Question

To be honest, I was a bit turned off by this last brisket. Not because of how it turned out, but because I trimmed no less than 5 pounds of fat off it before smoking. I pay $5-6 per pound for brisket so dumping $25 in the garbage has me second guessing whether it is even worth doing. For...
