  • Does anyone know if there is a pellet grill , that requires no electricity or a plug in ? If not I wish someone would make one .

    Well I was wrong, Traeger has a couple very portable pellet grills but they all need 110VAC, and they don't even provide the sort of info you'd need to purchase an inverter. GMG's Davy Crockett only works off 12V and the PitBoss tailgate model at least gives you the 100W sort of info you'd need to buy an inverter for car battery use.

    This sounds like an engineering challenge..... How about battery backed solar?

    Without doing all the engineering, a battery and an inverter would do the trick.

    300 watts is an estimate for a pellet grill power usage. That's a solar panel about 5.5' x 3.5' during a sunny day. A car battery with a $50 inverter will give you an hour or two of pellet grill operation. A deep-draw marine battery maybe 2 or 3. I think you're better off buying a couple marine batteries and a 300W inverter.
