That is the cast iron box with out the lid on, that came with the smoker. The model that I have is the 3605BGD Big Block. If I fully load it with dry wood chunks, it will last about 3 Hours.

Over the past weekend I did the mondo meat smoke in my big block. I loaded it up with 4 packer cut briskets ranging from 9 to 13 Lbs. When they were done, it looked like a grease bomb went off. The water pan and drip pan caught a good bit of it. I Don't think I would ever use it without! I Need...
Did you use the water pan? When I seasoned my big block I did not use the water pan. On the lowest setting the temp would creep up to 240. When I did my first smoke, I added the water pan and was able to get the temp down to 170 on low.

I just fish the wire down thru the top vent and set the probe on the rack next to the meat. Make shure it does not touch the meat. Then I place a pot holder on top of the smoker to set the unit on.

This afternoon I recived a new big block from epod.
Put it together and put the Lp and wood in it and started to season. I have let it run for about 3 hours on low. The paint smell is gone now. Think it is ready for the real thing!
