I agree with Rob. Just build it. I did the same with my MES. I loved it but wanted more. I dealt with the grief and have not cooked on anything since. Poor MES Best Q I ever made came out of my UDS...
So recently I had some spare ribs from a Famous place that rhymes with Caves. I have eaten there many times before but unbelievablly had never tried the spares. Well when I did I was super surprised to see that the membrane had not been removed from them and I was wondering why? Has anybody else...
Nice job Dave. I have really enjoyed my UDS, and the advice you gave me on fuel and getting the temps right have been a big help. I have had several quality smokes. Glad the weather held up for you.
When mixing woods in a UDS, or anything for that matter; Do you smoke them simultaneously, or seperately? Also, would a small log or split log produce too much smoke for a UDS?
I didnt receive the resonse I figured I would, so I will bight the bullet and get some. Full report to follow. I think I will try the chuckie, or a tri tip. Stay tunned.....
Im sure somebody on here has smoked with this. I ran across some Coffee wood at a local bbq grill/ smoker store. What does it taste like?Bitter, sweet. What meat do you smoke with it? The salesman didnt have much info on it.
As long as it fits, the temps should be fine. I recently smoked 42lbs of shoulder in mine. Had to rotate frequently due to the temp. differential from top to bottom.
