    Burnt ends- Brisket flat

    Can you make burnt ends out of the brisket flat versus the point? I know the flat is considerably less fatty but I just want to make the meat candy.

    Thanks for the response.  I would really prefer an out of the box, ready to go unit without needed mods.  Ive played that game. The Green Mountain looks great.  I do have concerns about Chinese made. I prefer to buy US products.  Any issues with that?

    So I have the Silver smoker.  Did most suggested mods.  Baffle, lowering stack, charcoal box, etc.  The on mistake I did make was, the baffle and the tuning the plates are pretty thin sheet metal.  I would prefer not to redo it.  Do you think the pumice briquettes would be a decent option in...

    Horizontal Smoker- Cant get temp up

    Sorry I never responded.  I have 4 temp gauges.  2 at grill level and 2 digital inside.  The temp was right.  Looks like I had airflow issues.  I fixed it soon after the post, shoulder turned out great.

    I have the Char Broil Silver smoker.  Its fairly well modded up.  Lowered the chimney to grate level, I have the baffle, and tuning plates extend about 3/4 the length of the bottom.  For the life of me I cant get the internal temp to go above 225 or so.  Even with those mods in place I am seeing...
