Thanks guys! I going to probably have to have someone make some cuts for me, because I don't know if my torch is big enough for metal that thick. :) I just want something that will last for a while. All the store bought smokers are such light guage, looks like they would rust out sooner than...- rickn

Oh, additional data. Both pieces of pipe have at least 3/8" thick walls. The 24" is proably 1/2". RickN- rickn

Ok, here's another newbie starting on a smoker project. :) A friend that works for a local pipeline company gave me a couple pieces of pipe for a smoker. One is 24" diameter and apx 36" long, and the other is 18" diameter and 36" long. I'm looking to build an "L" shaped upright smoke chamber...- rickn
