Thanks Craig and Al,
The reason I started the question was the fact that I did not have great experience with the WSM since owning it for about 3 months. It was between ok and good, but not great as everyone has raved about. I could not "dial in" the temp as I wished, after many trials and...
To be good at this smoking craft, you've got to know your smoker! That advice was repeated often on this forum, and I've got to admit, I don't know "what to know" about my WSM and MES. In other words, as a newb, I don't know what I don't know.
Please educate me, and a whole bunch of other new...
Count me as one more impressed customer!
I bought a 40" unit from Sam's 3 weeks ago, smoked 3 times with successes prior to Super Bowl party. So yesterday with about 25 guests and prime rib and ribs on the menu, I started the MES at 8am and after 3 hours, the MES could not get above 200F. I...
Happy thanksgiving to everyone on this nice forum.
I've been cooking since 3am for 6 slabs of bb ribs to prepare for our thanksgiving supper at 6pm today (it's my first time to show my family this new hobby). By the calculation, the ribs will be done by 10am. I have to go to work after that...
Good morning to all!
I came here from a google question on a New Braunfels, and could not leave. There is so much here, and everyone is so friendly and helpful. Hope to hang around here for a long time.
PS: I've got a WSM 18, Weber Performer, a stand-alone 22.5, and an old gas grill.
I found this on CL, the seller wanted $225 for it. When I offered $100, he dropped the asking price to $200. What would be a reasonable good price for this New Braunfels smoker as shown in this picture.
What is the model, anyway?
Thanks in advance.
