I mentioned above I needed to keep the stack short due to enclosed trailer. This easy on and off extension does not leak. So I won’t weld the collar to the extension. Easy to remove and stire.
I did cut the old stack out and put a 4 1/2” diameter stack. Had to keep the stack short to get it into my enclosed trailer. I made a 15” extension so it is 36” above cc. Here is a ouc without extension.
Did a run last week and the week before. Door is all sealed and can go from 150° to 400°...
Been almost 10 years i have made a few changes and today i changed out the smoke stack. Long story short I have dealt with a leaky (not bad) cc door. So a few weeks back decided to seal it off. And low and behold I could not get the CC above 165°. Cut and scraped the seal off as I was at a...
Digging this build, here is Frankenstein… I have cut i to it several times since building it 8 years or so ago. Getting ready to out a new stack on it. Glad I didn’t paint it. I like the rusty look.
Nice build you have going. I built one years back. I am about to start another build. What size DB did you go with? I am going to run a 24” x 24” FB on my 24”x 46” tank. Keep up the solid work.
So I an passing on the tank. Should I look for another one or just raise the roof and have a split door on my old smoker. Cut and raise 4 or 6”. I believe I have seen it done on here. Could find the thread.
I haven’t seen it yet to lnow if it is galvanized or not. How would you know if if is glass lined? Also is there a scratch test gor galvanized propane tanks?
Might be better to mod my existing smoker and add 6” to it for another rack. Here is the freak, built 10 years ago. Still doing work.
I was given this tank and before I put time into it. Will the center weld seem be an issue other than cosmetic? Don’t want it to do funky stuff when I cut it open. Measures to be a 125 gallon and want to make a horizontal RF out of it. Please, any thoughts would be appreciated.
