Hi, I found your comments on the smoker helpful. I just received one as a gift and used it one time so far. I think that a probe digital thermometer is a good idea and gives good control over cook time and temps. In fact I just ordered the Taylor 1470, but I have a question. Where do you enter the smoker box with the probe cable? The door gasket seems too tight and there are no holes that I could see. I was wondering if it could be inserted through the vent on top. If it goes through there then the vent is open and I guess all my smoke and heat would escape...yes/no? Your comments would be appreciated.
