That makes me wonder. What if i put three/four more bolts through the piston that pointed up. Then when the piston got to the top of the pipe (pre threads), the bolts would hit the cap. I mostly don't want to mess up the meat and could run the remaining though the smaller stuffer that we have...
I am in the process of building a 6" stuffer. I tried the threaded pipe at the top and it didn't work for me. There are too many threads and when you get to the end of the meat, water runs by and ruins the last few lbs.
I am planning on cutting off the top threaded piece and ordering these...
BTW: There is no reason to have an SSR on both legs going to the element. Stopping the current on one leg stops the element from heating.
current = voltage / resistance
So if current = 0, there is no voltage so the element is off.
It went from 17 F to 194 F in 17 degree weather in 45 minutes. After that it held within 2 degrees of 225 all day. I didn't really try to get it any higher than that, but I am sure I could hold 300 if needed. I should insulate the bottom and back of the bottom box to help stop heat lose as well...
