    I been thinking that if there was a spring loaded hinge meant to stay open that you could set the torsion on or something like this: http://www.rockler.com/product.cfm?page=30958 but I could see there being a gap on a hinge like the one in the link

    so I stumbled upon a 55 gallon hammerhead design on a welding website and I called my brother up to see what he thought about it.  he gave me some input and told me to check out this forum.  I don't do any smoking yet but I think he's pretty experienced and ive had the itch to build something...

    RF in a 55 gal drum

    hey did u start your build yet? ive been wanting to do the same thing.  im a little concerned about possible welding the RF plate into the 55 gallon drum.  seems like it might warp the drum.
