Food Safe Plastics

  1. if you ever have question what is or is not safe in a plastic container, just look on the container itself and make sure it is marked:

This is the recyling category for recyclable plastics that are food-safe, such as milk bottles, juice bottles, containers, buckets, etc.  As long as it has that symbol, you can safely store foods in it without anything from the plastic leeching into the product.

Absolutely! If you look on the bottom of most all 5 gal buckets they will have that symbol too!

Thanks.....went to Sam's this weekend and talked to "Wilma" in the bakery.....winked at her and asked if she had any extra frosting containers. She handed me two buckets (they hold 18 pounds of frosting) with handles and lids. Free! These will hold one chicken in brine. If you are a regular at a restaurant or a bar, ask them.
