tomato paste in a dry rub?

    I'm trying to get more of a tomato flavor in the rub recipe I am putting together for my baby back ribs. I am hoping the tomato flavor can also permeate the meat as the other spices in the rub... I do not want my rub to be the consistency of a sauce, I just want to make it a paste. Has anyone tried adding tomato paste to their rub? Once again thank you to all....:>)
