I live in Southeastern Massachusetts, but I grew up in Connecticut and after living here for 35 years I'm still not a native. I have smoked meats on vertical water smokers, horizontal smokers with side firebox, and even on my 22" Weber kettle, but now I'm having fun with my large Big Green Egg. Originally I had a job that sent me all over the country and whenever I was in a region where BBQ was popular I would sample the local fare. In the Northeast there is little BBQ culture and if you want it done right you have to do it yourself. My goal is to smoke low and slow with tasty wood chunks and charcoal over long periods of time.
