Smoked and seared some New Yorks the other day. Had some left over steak that I sliced really thin. Fired up the side burner on the gasser and did a quick stir fry. Pea pods and zucchini from the garden. Made a couple loafs of zucchini bread too!

    ENJOY!!!!

Thanks Adam! We always make extras and re-purpose them through out the week. We like to eat good food and have to get creative so we don't get bored!

Thanks Kat! Peeked at the zuke bushes last night and there's another 5 that are about ready to be picked! Our tomatoes are still green!

  6. Now that's an excellent "leftover" meal!!! I re-purpose lots of steak, pork chops etc with only being 2 of us.

Zucchini bread is always a hit and those loaves look great! I have ripening tomatoes but didn't plant zucs. Started out small at first - tomatoes and peppers!

Thanks Alesia! The zuke bread turned out good. Typical guy I didn't fully read the directions. I read mix all dry ingredients, mix all wet, then incorporate dry into wet. Upon further review and after I had mixed the dry ingredients, including the sugar, I discovered that for some strange reason the dry sugar was to be mixed with the eggs... It turned out just fine and if I hadn't mentioned it no one would have even known!

All we are getting right now is zukes, serrranos (which I did put in the stir fry) and pea pods. We have a hundred or so green tomatoes, and okra that is about ready.

My garden is on it's way out now.  Not getting much these days.  BUT....it did great this summer.

A do-over for sure this next year.

I make a new recipe exactly as written the first couple times, then it's game on and how can I get it mixed up easier and quicker! I do a lot of the mix them all together stuff in a lot of quick bread and even some cookie recipes. It worked and that's what counts!

KAt, ours was fantastic last year, this year we got stumped by the long winter! Next year we are putting in cold frames and a small greenhouse!

Alesia being the typical guy I am not much for reading the directions, which explains why I don't like to bake much. I'm also not much into following recipes! Most my family and friends say I should've been a Chef, but I can't guarantee that I'd be able to make the same dish twice! I wing it too much!

Thanks David! Yeah this year was a terrible year. Late frosts and cooler summer temps did us in. I have about 400 green tomatoes, none bigger than a golf ball. The okra did great to a point, but then the pods quit growing. I'll have to take a photo. they are all about 1 1/2" - 2" long. The zucchini on the other hand has been crazy!
