I am building a smoker out of an water heater. I know that you should stay away from galvanized metal. I believe the smoke exhaust pipe and the extension from the smoker is galvanized. Do you think that it will be okay since it is not in the smoker? Or will the heat from the smoke and smoker will cause the exhaust pipe to release some of those chemicals back into the smoker chamber? Any suggestion are appreciated.
