I just purchased the SuperPro along with the SFB. I noticed in the instructions it shows building the SuperPro with the knockouts on the wheeled side of the frame. On the inside of the SFB manual it also shows putting the SFB on the wheeled side of the frame. But on the front page of the SFB manual it shows the SFB on the non-wheeled side and on CharGriller's website it has the SmokinPro with SFB on the non-wheeled side. With the added weight of the SFB plus the weight of wood and lump it would seem to me that on the non-wheeled side would be more stable, (especially with the fact that CharGriller supplied the world's cheapest wheels). So which side do most people put the SFB on and have you had any issues with it on the wheeled side?

    Thanks for any input.

mine is on the non wheeled side! do your self a big favor and check out the mods section for this smoker. I recently did almost all the mods posted and have been smoking for close to 2 1/2 hrs. almost effortlessly..before i was always having to jack with it to keep the temps ok.

    Thanks, for the quick reply.

I have been checking out the mods, already purchased some high heat caulk for attaching the SFB, and the flex vent for extending the stack down to the cooking level along with a wire basket to raise the lump and wood up a bit in the SFB. Just have to pick up some metal to improve heat distribution and have this little nagging wheel question resolved.

You should consider whether you are going to be moving the beast around much. How easy will it be to move it? If you need to move it and the wheels need to be on the firebox side, get some better wheels. That would be a pretty easy upgrade.

Yeah the wheels supplied are not strong. Weight and gravity are against them.
