New to site

Hello just wanted to hi to everyone. I have checked out the forum several times and found some excellent info so thought I would join. I am using an Akorn chargrill smoker. I started using this as kind of an test to see if I wanted to spend the cash on a kamado joe ( which I still do ) but wow for 299.00 this thing turns out amazing! Q. So I kinda stuck with the Akorn. I have been in the restaurant business all my life and enjoy creating with food. My other passion is music. I love to play! So BBQ and some good old blues is my two addictions! I now work in the health care field but fire up the smoker at least once or twice a week! Long story short I tend to love creative things that bring people together and put a smile on their face here is my latest creation an 11 hour Boston butt. Turned out great. By the way from central Florida.

Welcome aboard!  That Boston butt looks delicious!  This is the best place I know for sharing ideas on smoking, grilling, curing, etc.  There are plenty of friendly, knowledgeable folks here who really enjoy helping one another.  Looking forward to your input here, and just ask when you need anything...someone here will surely have the answer.

We love to see pictures of what you are cooking (or what we call q-views here at SMF).  To "upload the q-views" just follow the directions here and it will be easier. If you are using a cell phone, an IPad or a kindle, go to the main SMF page and click the Mobile button. Will make the uploads a bit faster too.

If you didn't read the "Terms of Service" notes.....please do.  There are a few things that everyone should know about those pesky little rules before plunging into the forums and some guidelines of how to interact within the forums.
