Independance Weekend Smoke with Q-View

Discussion in 'Pork' started by toddb, Jul 2, 2011.

  1. Hey guys, I've been a professional lurker here for a long time with the very occasional post.

Here's what's on the smoke today for tomorrow's dinner (I had to smoke today since I will be busy all day tomorrow.)

Let me know what you think!

Todd's Smokin' Hott Butt (the open space is for the ABTs that will go on in a bit.)

    Dtuch's Wicked Baked Beans

Looks great!  Do you get a lot of drippings from the pork in the beans?
  3. Thanks Wren!

Yep, the pork drips into the beans adding even more flavor.  It is quite awesome!  Plus, I spray my pork with a mix of Capt Morgan and apple juice and some of that gets in the beans as well.  I'm not sure how much flavor that adds, but I like to think it helps to make them awesome!

I'm almost at the 2 hour mark.  Updated pics coming up!

    Looks great!
  6. A few hours in and the ABTs (a simple cream cheese, shreded cheddar and breakfast sausage filling) have joined the smokin' party!

I will have to do the ABTs in two batches because my smoker isn't big enough!

    Looking better all the time!
  8. Thanks Al!
  9. The first batch of ABTs are off the smoke and looking delicious!

  10. The rest of the ABTs are off the smoker.  It is taking everything I have inside me to not just eat them all right now!

And the beans are off too.  Looking and smelling great!  Dutch's recipe for Wicked Baked Beans are awesome!

  11. The pork reached 165*, was foiled and placed back on the smoker to bring it to 205* for ultimate tenderness!
