I have been grilling awhile (Weber Genesis gas grill c. 1998) - nothing exotic mind you - but comfortable around the grill.  I am absolutely brand new to smoking meat, though.

Recently purchased a Masterbuilt Dual Fuel PRO from the local home store.  Picked this one because it was inexpensive and because I thought I would get better temperature control with gas and not have to worry about charcoal.

Anyways, got the rig seasoned and did three racks of ribs the first day.  Worked well, but I obviously have some more learning to do.  Had a really hard time keeping the temperature below 250 deg.  Ribs were done in about 2 hours.  They were tasty, but a little tough.

Looking forward to using this resource a lot!

Cheers!
