I have been reading a lot about smokers and I wanted to get one for a couple years. A few weeks ago I was in our local Tractor Supply and saw an end of season close out sale they were having on a Red Stone side fire box smoker grill. I had selected the Char-Griller Smokin' Pro as the grill I had planned to buy, but I could not pass up the deal from Tractor Supply. $159.95 for the grill with the side fire box. Now I have to modify it to my liking. Hopefully within a few weeks I will have it assembled with all of the joints sealed, putting a coat of Rustoleum Hi Temp grill paint on it, add some temperature gauges, and extend the smoke stack down to the grill level. I am having a local metal shop build a combination heat deflector with a water box, and cut some steel tuning plates to size for me. I have scarfed up all of the remaining Royal Oak hard lump charcoal from Tractor Supply stores within a 20 mile radius. I am anxious to get started.
