Expanded Metal Grate?

Starting on the process of modifying my offset Pitmaster smoker.

It's been awhile since I've used and somehow all the grates are missing.

I'll definitely use expanded metal for the firebox grate. Has anyone used it for the top grate in with the main chamber?
