Hello smokers. My name's Doug, and I have a few questions as a brand new meat smoker. I just purchased an electric smoker (Masterbuilt), and am hoping I didn't make a poor choice. Does anyone here have experience with this particular smoker?

Welcome to SMF. I dont have that smoker but lots of others do. Sign up for the 5 day ecourse. Lots of great information there.

welcome and while i have no experience with that unit, others here do so sit back and enjoy.

Welcome to the SMF Doug! Alas, I too offer no sage advice on the MES but, as already stated, there are many here that do!

Hi Doug,

Welcome to the forum. I just joined about a week ago. I have been smoking for about 5 years with a Little Chief. When it died recently, we got a new MES smoker. Luckily before I did my first smoke with it, I found this forum. Go to the Electric Smoker section and read up on the MES. Lots of good stuff there.

Cheers,
Tom

Welcome to the SMF. You will find all the smoking information you need right here. Someone will be along shortly to help you out with your new smoker.

Well thanks for the warm welcome guys, and for the advice. I plan to get started soon. It's runing around the zero mark here in Minesota, so I might find an excuse to procrastinate until it gets a little warmer! I actually was a meat cutter for several years, worked in a locker plant, but it's been so long ago I don't remember a lot of the things I should.
Once again, thanks so much for the warm welcome. I'll let you know how it goes............

Merry Christmas to all
