Need Redi Check suggestions

I have been using my Redi Check for a long time and other than having pour range it has been a great unit. Well lately my range has been really really pour. I figured the batteries were just getting low so today I put new batteries in both units figuring I would be all set again but no I am still fighting with range. I did some testing and I actually had it sitting on my grill which is about 15-20ft away straight line of site and it won't update the remote unit. Has anyone else run into this and if so is there anything you can suggest I try? I use to be able to sit in my house and have my smoker in the driveway and it would work just fine.

Welcome to my world!!

On my 2nd one, and range is 20' or so.  Far from the 100' the mfg claims.

There are a few antenna mods that I'm looking at.

Yea I will have to try the antenna mod I guess. It makes no sence why it just all of a sudden lost a huge amount of range.
