I have recently acquired a 250 gallon drum and would love to make it into a smoker/grill combo.  The only problem is that I really don't know everything that I need to know about making a smoker.  So if there is anyone the has plans or helpful ideas with rigging one of these bad boys up I would appreciate it.  Its a little late tonight but ill try to get some pics of the drum for better visualization

First off Welcome Austin to SMF.  You'll like it here for there are alot of really good folks here that would just love to help you with just about anything to do with smoking. Now there are alot of proven recipes for some amazing things here too. So if you need sign up for the E-Course it's free and it will give you the basics of smoking and some good methods to use also. So the next big thing for you to do is go out and get you something to smoke and if you happen to have any questions just post it here and we will be happy to answer them for you.

Welcome To Your New Addiction

Looks like an old fuel oil tank.  There have been a number of builds using a tank like that.  As was mentioned in another post, check out the smoker build section and get some ideas.

Enjoy the Forums!
