Hi Everyone, I just got a new MES 30" and came across the site while getting my education in smoking from the internet :)  I just got my MES saturday, I was at lowes and the had one that was in the box but the box was really banged up so I got a manager to come over.  I said to him, this box is really messed up, want to give me a deal on it?  He says how about $100 ($179 reg), I just went for it, figured I could fix anything on it if worse came to worse.  Well I got it home and the only thing wrong with it is a small dent in the back where the grease outlet is, you cant even see it on the inside.  So to make a long story short I like to think Karma brought me and smoking meat together!!

Glad to be a part of the forum and have learned alot already!

18"Webber kettle

Weber Smokey Joe

Would like to get rid of the 18" Weber and get a full size weber kettle.

Firts off welcome Bud to SMF. You'll like it here for there are alot of really good folks that would just laove to help you with just about anything to do with smoking. Congrats on your new smoker and it sounds like you got the better end of the deal. I would recommand that you sign up for the E-Course it'f free and will give you the basics and some good things to make right off the bat. You also want to graze over some of the threads here and you will learn alot there too. So the next big thing you want to do is go get something to smoke and if you happen to have any questions just post them here and we will be happy to answer then for you.

Thanks for the welcome.  I have already smoked a Butt and today its a set of babybacks.  Here are a few Qview pics of my first smoke.  I think I ll do a little write up of my beginners experiences after today.  Man I cant wait for dinner tonight!!  :)
