I recently purchased a 22.5 silver weber, today i did a beer can chicken, it turned out very good. i would appreciate more recipes i can do on this grill. please make it simple like for steak and chicken. thanks weber.

You can do just about anything on that grill. you can cook direct or indirect. use different rubs. a easy one I like to do is country style ribs.

Hey,I'm glad to see I'm not the only one out here that likes to get his chickens drunk.

I will make this short and sweet. If your not doing this already give it a try you want be

disappointed.

1st soak you bird in a Reine over night<water, salt ,pepper. sugar, onion salt, what ever you like.

2nd The next day, rub your bird with olive oil, and all the seasoning you like. be sure to get the inside of your bird also.<Don't be stinngie with it>

3rd after you insert the beer can, I like to cut an onion in half an stick in the top of the bird,

to hold the steam in while it cooks.

4th look at the pic below to see how the grill is set up. on a 4lb bird depending on the season about  1 hour & 15 minuets to 30 mi nets check your temp. for birds, you don't want to over cook him. I am proud of this pic its one of the best pics I ever took.

Two suggestions that will put you on the path of great eats.  Weber website has a ton of grilling recipes from easy to complex.  You can also get quite a few from just googling (or whatever your search program is)  BBQ Pit Boys.  They've done quite a few YouTube videos that really get into the details of the grilling (VERY informative).  And, they do it on a Weber.

Have you clicked on Forums?  Theres a charcoal grilling forum as well there.

I love my 22.5' Webber kettle. Best yard sale score of my life.
As was said, you can do anything with these things,
Here are my favorites:

- Salmon steaks
http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/good-eats/grilled-salmon-steaks-recipe/index.html

- Bread
http://www.smokingmeatforums.com/forum/list/119/breads
Just find a recipe you like, and bake with indirect heat. Charcoal choice makes a big difference!

- Steaks
I like to pile the coals in the dead center of the grill for steaks, and literally sear my steaks for maybe two minutes a side, let 'em rest, and serve screaming.

- Potoato wedges
Cut 'em up, season 'em how you want, and then grill them on a well-greased grate over indirect heat (circle method).

- Firm Veggies
Marinade bell peppers, Zucchini, crook-neck Squash, and eggplant in balsamic vinegar with some slat, pepper, basil, olive oil, and brown sugar, throw them on after the potatoes, and grill until they're done to you liking.

- Carne Asada
I like to cut a Sirloin Tip roast into streaks, season with salt, pepper, my southwestern rub (http://www.smokingmeatforums.com/forum/thread/104939/moose-s-southwestern-rub, shameless plug, sorry!) canola oil, and lime juice. Let that soak in overnight, grill over high-heat until medium-rare, let rest, cut into cubes and serve with tacos. You can adapt this to Tilapia fillets, but cook 'em all the way through, par-cooked Tilapia is too boogery.

You could even bake a pie in one, as long as you manage the temps, and get a perfect "ring of fire" going. I think the burning honey scent of Mesquite charcoal works perfectly for fruit pies, especially peach!

Basically, if you can cook it on a stove, you can cook it on a grill, you just need to get a little creative!
Good luck!

I really like to do flank steak on my weber. Marinade it over night ( beer, soy sauce, garlic, black pepper) then get grill to 325-350f and put flank steak on for 8 minutes per side. Pull meat and let it rest 10-15 minutes and slice it up.

I hope your chicken came out good.

Whenever I post something here, I try to put details about what I made, seasonings and so on so that someone else could duplicate my results. Some other folks do not normally do that, but will provide details if you ask. I search the forum for ideas for what I'm making and ask for details for what I cant figure out. (See my post "Mesquite Grilled Chicken and ask if you have any questions.) And use google to search for ideas. There are lots of us out there that enjoy sharing our results with others. You'll get tired of listening if you're not careful. ;)

How long do you marinate your veggies?  How did you cook them? (Indirect heat)  What temps?  I haven't done veggies yet but want to give it a try.  Was thinking I would just use a rack but not sure of what to marinate them in.  Suggestions?  Thanks.

I dont marinate my veggies, just olive oil and seasonings, and I use a "Grill wok"
I simply move it on and off the heat, Pick it up every now and then and shake things around.

Throw it in the dishwasher when im done, Very simple

If I do marinade, I'll let the veggies set for a few hours, no more than maybe five.

I agree mostly with WebberinPA, plain with salt, pepper, and olive oil is great, too, especially things like asparagus and large fleshy fungi. I just have trouble buying strange cooking implements, but that's a personal thing.

Willy- one of the best gifts I have ever received was a book on grilling/BBQ.  It is The Cook's Illustrated Guide to Grilling and Barbecue.  This is a wonderful hardcover book and taught me a lot when I first got my Weber.  Check it out, well worth the money!

Best thing i can say is look throughout the forum and use your friends and family as lab rats. Start simple and then try the hard stuff. Of course for me the hard stuff turned out to be regular hot dogs and not the more complicated items.

You have purchased an icon!

Probably the best all around grill ever made?  Not perfect, but the best.  It should last you a lifetime.

The advantage of grilling different chicken pieces is that everyone can pick the piece they want. The problem is getting all the pieces grilled perfectly so that everyone is happy. This is one of the reasons many people have switched to grilling only one cut of chicken. Of course, you can choose to go this way and use the information here to help perfect your chicken. I am, however, going to be grilling breasts, thighs, legs and wings and doing them all together; perfectly cooked.

You should start by deciding on a flavor combination for the chicken. I will begin with a good poultry rub, then add barbecue sauce at the end. These are optional, but they do enhance the texture and flavor of the chicken. If you are going this route, have your flavor decisions made before unpacking the meat.

The supplies you will need for this are:
  • One whole chicken cut up
  • A good poultry rub
  • Some Barbecue Sauce
  • Fuel for your grill
  • A trusty meat thermometer

All around in my calculation, it is the best grill in the market for its affordable price. Pay significant attention while the genesis usage, grill will last you for decades and give you the opportunity to grill more things as you think of. Its high quality constructed parts particularly the stainless steel burners are easy to clean and give you the fabulous look.  It is reliable as you can pass it to the next generation after the use.  People who have the genesis grill are happy with its features and always want to buy the genesis grill for their kitchen comfort.

OK yall, I got a Weber grill and a Weber gas grill from a friend of mine that is moving and can't take them with him. My question is, what do I need to do to clean them up?  Do I need to make any Mods on the charcoal grill? The charcoal grill is 22.5 in. model. Thanks
