for sure or a Great Job There. Now you have really thought about every ting that you could really need but where's the Beer Cooler???? My mother got with a very popular Bar "Pete's" Owner in 1954 and built a custom beer stein / refrigerator that held pony kegs of beer for my Father and she named it Frankie'sStein

It's a thing-a-beauty!  Very well done indeed.  Of course my wife saw the picture and says "Oh my gosh what the hell is that?"  Of course I had to give her the detailed explanation!

Great Job!

Extreme Nice!!!!

Sqwib, I figured I would come to a pic of a recliner set just infront of the smoker so you could look at a flat screen mounted on the wall just above the rig.

Very Nice Work. Thanks for sharing.

Sorry guys, my page has changed a little bit so i figure they are doing maintence on the site and my spell checker is outa wack. Appoligizes for the typo's.

Great looking rig! Gotta ask, what's the springy thingy on the counterweight?
That is the ugliest part of Frank but one of the most functional.

When you open the smoker, the spring starts to compress when it bottoms out, so if you flip it open sharply its a cushioned stop and wont bang and opens fully.

If you open it slowly it will stop at 2/3rds open, its actually pretty neat, but Ugly as hell.

So its sort of adjustable from 2/3 open to fully open.

WOW!!!! nice monster, I wish I had the know how to do something like that, great job

I am a printer by trade and dabble in woodworking, I can not weld, I AM however mechanically inclined and pretty good at figuring things out in my head...things out of the norm.

If it were not for the people on this site, Frank would not be and the tank would be in some scrap yard rusting.

Dare I say it......Yes I must......   ITS ALIVE!!

SQWIB,

Can you tell me where to get the "vertical clamps" ?  I am not sure if I am using the correct verbiage when searching for them.  I would like to put them on my smoker.

thanks!

Oh ya.. and kick @$$ job on that rig.

Rich,

Congradulations on the completion of the build it. I've been periodically going to your web site and watching the build. Nice job. I hope the burners turned out well. At least I can say I had something to do with the build with my instructions on building a pipe burner on the hobart site. You have a nice piece of smoking equiptment and the craftmanship is top notch.

Cant wait to see the qveiws

I would personally like to thank you for that excellent post at the Hobart site.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH

I did a follow up post over there a few months ago looking for some advice on the problem with the smaller burner, I think that the slots where the flames come out are too wide.

I am going to do another build and slot with a portaband and hopefully resolve the issue.
