I have a Taylor programmable probe with remote that shuts itself off after about 30 to 40 minutes.  Very frustrating to have to go to the smoker every little while to start the probe again.  Anyone else having that issue?  Oh, it's the Connoisseur model.

Thanks

I found out it has an auto off feature that turns it off after 30 minutes if there is no change in temp.  Guess I'll have to look for another unit.

mine does that but its not a big deal you just turn it back on and its instantly reading the temp, but usually it will stay on after turning it back on twice.

I noticed that with mine too, it was annoying.  I was going to return it but then I got the Maverick so I just put it up for a spare.

That's the one feature of my Taylor that aggrevates me.  I gave up using the pager with it because, during a smoke, it's always giving the alarm that the thermometer is shutting down.  What's more, I go to find it shut off so I power it up again to then go through setting up my target temperature.  It's default target temp is 165 as a beef product, so my target is higher than that, I gotta set it back to my custom settings, else the stupid alarm won't shut up if I intend cooking to a higher temp.
