Hi,

I am looking for a electric smoker and ran onto your site over the weekend. This is got to be the greatest site around, I have spent 4-5 hours reading the posts on the site concerning electric smokers. I am leaning towards a Masterbuilt 40, just looking for the right place to get it.sounds like Sam's Club if they have one in stock, otherwise probably Cabela's. I know that our Cabela's, here in Omaha has the new model as I have been there twice looking at it.

First off Welcome Mark to SMF. you'll like it here for there are alot of really good folks here that would just love to help you with just about anything to do with smoking. Now there are alot of proven recipes for some amazing things here too. So if you need sign up for the E-Course it's free and it will give you the basics of smoking and some good methods to use also. So the next big thing for you to do is go out and get you something to smoke and if you happen to have any questions just post it here and we will be happy to answer them for you.

 Welcome to the SMF .You will love the MES 40. I use mine at least every other weekend.

 It can handle a big load of meat  and does a great smoke.
 
Yup, get the MES 40.

If you don't like it, I'll swap you for my MES 30.

Mine works great, but after a whole year, it still hasn't grown a bit!

Welcome to SMF glad you decided to join us. You'll find lots of good info and some great recipes here. I would suggest Sam's Club and the extended warranty for the MES 40" cause ya just never know. Have fun and good luck with whichever you choose

Welcome aboard!  There hours upon hours worth of reading on here and I'm not sure you'll run out finding information even after that! LOL  Good luck with the new smoker, hope Sam's has one in stock for you.  
 
Well I went to Sam's Club with no luck, so I ended up at Cabela's and purchased the Materbuilt 40, 1200 watt with access door on back. Cabela's offered a 2 year extended warranty that goes into effect after the manufacture warranty runs out, after reading the posts concerning issue's I got that also. Will season it Friday night and and attempt my first smoke Saturday or Sunday.

Congrats on the big boy MES.  You won't find an easier way to produce some good smoked food.
