thanks fourthwind..does it matter which end of the basket you dump your hot coals (closest to the air intake or closest to the smoking chamber)? 
Per the Klose instructions, you are supposed to put the box in with the burning end towards the smoke chamber.  This way the coal burns toward the vent.  That being said, I have burned it in both directions with no percieved difference in temp or burn time.  My last smoke I burned from end to end 4 times for a total burn time of about 14 hours.  I am doing some smokes here this week, and will take a pic or two of the basket at the halfway through a burn

I tell you brother, after years of working hard to get good Q at home, this smoker has been a real treat.   I fortunately got it just in time for a few family functions.  I get to play twice this week

  Tomorrow is another brisket, beef loin roast, beer can chicken, and a rack of ribs.
