Hi there Chard and welcome to SMF! Drop by Roll Call and give yourself a proper intro!

As far as your barrels go I'd be burning them out as we speak. That is not to say I'm an eggspurt but I personally do not see anything wrong with either of the contents the drums contained in their former, less uesful lives.

OK, I'll hit up that room.Srry.  Thx for the info!  How should I burn it out? I'll search that in the FAQ's.. Im sure it's there.

thx again

when I did my burn I picked up all the sticks in my yard from a past storm filled the drum full and lit it up then added some hedge from my firewood stash, oak would work too but you need to get it hot hot.  Mine turned red in a few places, but by putting the lid on it I was able to calm down the fire and keep my barrel safe.   So when you burn it out if you load it heavy make sure you have a way to slow it down if it gets outta hand.  When your done most of the paint should be gone and then your ready to start building!!

Good luck with it and have fun.  I get more satisfaction out of my UDS than I do my Brinkman heavy duty offset.

Give them both a good scrubbing or power wash and burn them. Power wash again and then season them. That should get rid of anything harmful.
