Ribs for 150 people!?

Cooking ribs and beans for 150. Other side will be potato salad (not my responsibility). I will be cooking st louies , by first thought was that I needed about 50 racks (about 1/3 rack per person) What do you think? Too much or not enough?

Is there going to be a mix of family? (ie. men, women & children?) If so you may be on the high side but if it is going to be mostly men you may be on the low side but I am not to sure? I have never cooked for that many people before so I have no experience. There will be a some others that will hopefully chime in soon that have experience in this and can give you a better idea.

I thought about it, before reading what RB said.

He said about exactly my thoughts on it.

Guys like us there----You're short.

Women & Kids included, you'll have plenty.

when and where? lol

just bring more filler... some rolls, mash potatoes etc... then you'll have plenty... but if its just meat and beans, then it could be close...

for large groups, i think starting them on some filler is better...

Men and Women no kids.  It is a golf scramble.  I appreciate your input.  Not sure yet what all the organizers are going to provide yet for side dishes.  I have enlisted a friend with a large cooker to help.  He has some experience with cooking for large groups.  He admits that most of the time he cooks more than enough.  I guess it really depends on the crowd like you say.  Again thanks for your input.

150 adults eating beans... Are you sure this event isn't for Alternative Energy?

I think your count sounds fairly good... especially with sides being offered by the organizer... GOOD LUCK!
