Pork Butt sauce

Let me be clear upfront.  I'm not talking about a finishing sauce.

I'm looking for a good BBQ sauce for my pork butt.  I love my BBQ sauce but my girlfriend doesn't like it on her pork.  The reason is that it isn't what she is used to.  She is used to a thinner, more vinegary sauce on her pork.  Does anybody have a good recipe they would like to share that they think she may like?  I'm not sure of the flavor she is used to but I do know what it looks like.  It is a very thin red sauce.  If nobody had suggestions I may just mix some of the finishing sauce into my BBQ sauce to see how she likes that.

Sounds to me that she likes a good carolina pig sauce.

Down here where i'm from most everyone likes a thick sweet spicy sauce.

Give me a min. and i'll find a link for what i think your looking for.

I agree with you but couldn't think of the local it came from.  My sauce is what you describe, thick, sweet, and spicy.  Thanks for your help!

Jack's Old South Competition Vinegar Sauce Ingredients 2 cups cider vinegar 3 tablespoons ketchup 2 tablespoons paprika 2 tablespoons brown sugar 4 teaspoons kosher salt 1 tablespoon hot sauce 1 teaspoon cayenne -- (1 to 2) 1 teaspoon ground black pepper -- (1 to 2) Preparation Combine all the ingredients in a nonreactive mixing bowl, mixing until the sugar and salt dissolve. Taste for seasoning, adding pepper as needed. Transfer to a clean, sterile jar and refrigerate. This vinegar sauce will keep for several months This is a good start . let her try this and see what she thinks . you can allways add to it. sorry about the way this copied.

I tried this one from the wiki written by: soflaquer,

1 Cup Cider Vinegar
2 Tablespoons Brown Sugar
1 Teaspoon Tony Chachere's Cajun Seasoning
1 Teaspoon Course Black Pepper
1 Teaspoon Red Pepper Flakes

I followed it exactally and found all the ingredients at wally world... I put about 1/3 cup on a 6lb butt and it was fantastic.. I don't like thick and sweet either.

Thanks all for the help.  I'll have to smoke one this weekend so she can give it a try.
