Hi everyone I am plaining on smoking 6 butts and maybe a brisket and some ribbs for the 4th. I will try to get some pics. I live in Louisiana and we are getting a lot of rain. It does not look good for the weekend I plain on smoking Saturday but it has a 50% chance of rain. I do have a pop up cover I might drage out. Do yall have any tips on smoking in the rain. I will be using my 48 lang.

I don't think you'll have any problems with the rain.  With the winds from the storm brewing down there you might though.

Hopefully some Lang owners will be around to give you some tips on how to control things with the wind.

Good luck and stay safe down there!

Now I'm not a lang owner but I wouldn't mine being one if the moneys were there right now. I don't think that you should have any troubles for a lang when it does get hot it will stay there from my past experiences.

Chris I would attempt to keep the wood dry but I don't think you'll notice much difference smoking in the rain. It may take a little more wood to maintain temps in the smoker but not thats about it.

Good luck with the smoke!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thats why I love smokin'!  It ain't a "set in 'n forget it" kinda cooking necessarily.  Roll with the punches, keep that wood as dry as you can, then let that baby roll!

We just did a bbq comp the other day where it rained (and I mean RAINED) overnight... the best thing we could do was to leave the thing alone... if you're fighting the cooling temps, try to open the pit as little as possible to keep what heat you do have trapped.

Best of luck to you, can't wait to see the pics!

Thanks for the reply's the wood is dry and just got the meat. Oh yeah I do love smokin. I don't mind getting wet because I know what's at the end.

While it rained to and the little Lang kept chugging along. Here is some Q view.
