I'm Kenny Youngers, 38 yrs old, married with 4 kids, been living around Kingman my entire life. I have been smoking meat for about 3-4 yrs., and have been a big fan of Smoking-Meat.com and this forum since I started. I have an old Coleman "smoke machine" upright propane smoker that my wife found a garage sale for $10, and decided I would try a learn how to use it. This unit uses a propane burner, lava rock, and a water pan with upper and lower cooking racks. Since I got it, I've modified the burner area by cutting and adding a door to it to add wood easier, and I use metal baskets to hold wood chips/chunks right over the burner. I've actually had pretty fair luck with this thing, even though it's made of thin material, etc...I have to cut spare ribs in half to fit them in...but I've had many great meals of ribs, pulled pork, turkey, and ham from this thing. I really can't complain about it. Then, recently, I found an old Oklahoma Joes horizontal unit at a garage sale for $30 that you can read about in the wood smokers section of the forum. I haven't gotten to cook with this one yet... I've learned a lot from reading the forum, and having my questions answered by all of you very kind people! Thank you!
