It is bout as close as I can get. There be several good shoulder bacon cures out there an make a fine bacon at that. I never liked the kits I tried, was to much salt in em fer my likin.

I'm also glad to hear I'm not alone. I find Hi Mt Cure to be way too salty.
I like my simple cure & seasoning much better. You don't know how much of what is in those pre-mixed cures.
