First...Happy Fathers Day to all fathers and Grandpas.

Last weekend I posted that I did my seasoning of my new smoker and today is the day for the first smoke.

I have read and did my homework on smoking pork ribs and I have a question on seasoning.

Once I have my rub on the ribs and ready to go in the smoker can I use a mopping sauce instead of spraying apple juice on them to keep moist?

I really do not like apple juice........If I use a mopping sauce will my rub come off my ribs??  or can I smoke them for the 6 hours and not use anything, or would they turn into pork leather

Any and all advice would be great...thanks Brew Dude

Maybe since it's fathers day my sweet wife will try and post some photos on here later today........I do not have a clue on how to do that yet..maybe she will teach me today

thanks for the photo info Rick....I will have my wife check it out..

Personally I wait 1-1.5 hours before spritzing/mopping my ribs. You can use pretty much whatever you want for a spritz/mop
