Hello ALL. Hope everyone has happy smokes on Memorial Day!!

OK, so i got my chargriller all fired up and thru on 4 pcs of chunk. I have never used chunk but rather the chips. Saw the big bag @ HD so I got me one. ANYWAY....so the smoke started pouring and from that I could see I had leaks all around my top and SFB. I could not really see the heat loss with the chips as they never thru out the smoke like the chunks. I was curious as to why my temps were on the low side. SO for a test I patched up all the holes (FOIL) where the top closes and the SFB lid closes and  whamo my temps shot up to around 270 and that has never happened with this grill. SO  when I closed up all the gaps around the SFB lid with foil it helped. Well that along with filling all the gaps around the lid too

Thought I would post this for anyone else  that might have the same problem. My leaks are some what fixed and im off and running. I see now why everyone puts the rope around the top etc.. Guess I just had to test it on MY applications and it worked great.

Have a great MD !!!
