Good Day from SW Washington

Stumbled on this site while looking for ideas for a meatloaf I'm going to do today.

I'm in SW Washington (Mossyrock area). I've grilled for many years and recently I got a Green Mountain pellet smoker/grill. I've done few cooks on it and am starting to get things figured out. I still classify myself as a beginner.

My list of equipment that I have used include the Hibatche in the 60's, numerous gas grills through the years, water smokers, and electric smokers. My current list is a gas grill, The Green Mountain thing, and a Luhr Jensen Big Chief electric smoker.

I'm a meat and taters type, and if you throw a sauce on it or give it a foreign name I ain't much interested. French fries is as foriegn as I like to get, and maybe some Mexican type food, just don't ask me to pronounce it unless it's tacos or burro-toes.

So, that's me in a nut shell. Wish all of you out there smokey days with summer commin' on. Dave

Damp? We ain't damp, it's just something we tell the flatlanders to keep 'em from moving here. Damp keeps the webbing between the toes moist. Welcome fellow PNW'er. Theres a bunch of us hanging out on this site.

Thanks to all for the warm welcomes. Did a slow meatloaf on Sunday that turned out OK, needs a little refinement. Thinking of starting with a little coarser grind for the meat and a splash of Wild Turkey or Jack Daniels in the mix. Going to run out and get a portable cover for a cookout this weekend, not so much for me but for those that want to stand outside and watch me work. Being born and raised in the area I learned that once the moisture gets through the clothes, I'm waterproof from that point on. Thanks again, Dave
