Mr T got SMOKED!!

Here is what has become known as "Mr T" a 5 pound T-bone roast / steak

Mr T gettling loaded into the MES. Rubbed with Kosher salt, fresh ground pepper, Thyme, Garlic powder, and a bit of Turbinado sugar. Smoked with coal and Mesquite.

Mr T coming out of the smoker at 120° internal. Wrapped and rested for 1 hour.

Without a meat saw on hand I had to use a fillet knife and remove the two types of steaks. Nice thick cuts. Oh and yummmmmy. Like I would wait for the wife to get home before having a "snack" Wrapped them up again, and now waiting for the wife to get home from work. Going to give them a 1 minute per side grill on a bed of smoking hot coals to finish tonight. I will post the finishing shots after dinner tonight.. Cant wait!

Those are 1.25 inch thick cuts!

I cannot repeat the first words that came out of my mouth when I saw the size of the Tbone steak/roast. Something along the line of "Holy &*%$." That looks like it will be a great supper.

To bad you didn't have a meat saw to cut those into steaks that would have looked sweet!!! All the more reason for you to go out and buy a meat saw PDT_Armataz_01_34.gif hehe

ok so this was a piece of Americana heaven on a plate. I got my weber Kettle dang near glowing. Threw the steaks on, flipped at a minute. put a pat of butter on each steak. A minute later did a quick flip to butter the other side. flipped again for about another 20 seconds, then off the grill. All plated up with fried taters and corn. I cannot believe the great flavors and tenderness in this piece of beef. Even my 2 YO daughter ate her fair share. PDT_Armataz_01_34.gif Cant wait to do a rib roast now. common sales!

Congrats, that is one killer steak/roast. If my wife saw that pic, she'd probably say " Don't get any ideas when we go to the meat dept.".

this was a thread from long ago'''''''' glad i found it .. so i go to the butcher looking for a bone in prime rib .. all sold out after Christmas.. he thinks a minute.. I GOT a 4.5 T-BONE ROAST.. cant wait .. PicS  later
