Well, I've finally done it. I've entered the great world of outdoor cooking and smoking. Looking forward to reading and learning all I can as I embark on this journey.

I'm from SE PA and Saturday I bought a new unit from Char Griller, finished putting it together today and seasoned it as well.

Anyone have one of these? What tips and tricks can you pass along?

Welcome to SMF glad you decided to join us. Congrats on the new smoker. You'll find lots of good info and some great recipes here. Have fun and happy smoking

Welcome to the SMF. Glad you joined us. Nice rig. Looks like propane on the left and a smoker on the right. Are the two chambers connected at all or is it two seperate cooking chambers one charcoal/lump/wood and the left one being propane?

Saw this one or one like it at HD kinda check it out appeared to have the best of both worlds. Coal on one side for smoking and Propane on the other.. lets us know how it works.
Welcome to the SMF

Welcome to the SMF. Glad to have you here. Lots of good folks, great recipes and knowledge. Looking forward to your first qview.

Welcome to the SMF Family! I know of one person on the forum that has your setup, ShooterRick. May want to search his threads to see if he has anything on his smoker, posted.

Good luck, hope to see some future qvue from ya!

Thanks for the welcome folks.... I look forward to posting my first 'smoke'. After seasoning the grill, last evening I broke in the propane side with some burgers and kielbasa. Now I'm ready to break in the charcoal side and get some real smoke going.

The two chambers are completely seperate units.

It's also free and it will give you the basics of smoking. So after all of that you just need to go grab something to smoke and if you have any question just post them here and we will answer it quickly so you don't have any mishaps with your smoke.
Welcome To Your New Addiction

Nice looking unit! I wonder if there would be a way to make an opening in between the two chambers, might be able to use the propane side as a holding chamber then...

Welcome aboard from another SE, PA smoker...our numbers are increasing!

Welcome to the SMF, you've made the right move. Congrats on the new smoker, anf you should be getting good feedback on that new smoker. It's all good my friend.
