Smoking 135 lbs of butt for pulled pork for a church event tomorrow. Took the day off from work so I could do this. plan on also getting some mowing done. might even take the christmas lights down. (yes they are still up..lol)

This is all of them getting ready for a rub down. There are 2 per pack here so I have 20 in all. Im using McCormicks Sweet and smokey rub. I love this stuff. Using a mix of maple, pecan, hickory, and whatever else I have laying around here.

Here they are all on the smoker at 9am.

Thin blue and chugging along at 235*.

I'll keep more pictures coming throughout the day.

Enjoy!

That's not blue smoke, it's holly smoke

Dang Boone! You better be careful or people will start showing up for a revival at your house.
Great looking rig too! Looking forward to some more action shots.

Thanks for the comments everyone.

How about some more pics?? 1:00pm and about 145ish* on most of them.

spraying them down every hour with a mix of Sprite and Apple juice.

more to come later.
Will also be making about 6 batches of dutches bean, and Jeff sauce later this evening. Going to reheat the pork, smoke the beans and sauce in the morning.

MistaBob - I have taste tested a few and they ARE delicious!!
Twistertail - Yes, I love that sweet and smokey rub.

Ok, Here are a few more, but they still look about the same. anyway.

Going into the foil.

Foiled

The temperatures are all over the place with them. With being so many I kinda expected that. So now I just wait.

Be back later.

is that furnace sealer you've got on the doors? I was thinking about buying some of that for my home made rig, does it work well for you?

Yep, sure is. Tt worked really good when i could get them to stay on. The high heat caulk/glue didn't want to stick real well. So I used self tapping screws and it holds just fine now.

for one killer smoke you had there Boone. And everything came out looking fabulous and I just know they tasted really good too. Now for the church folks are in for some mighty fine Q for sure.
