I did a turkey last weekend and at highest setting I was getting just under 300, maybe 295. I have had it up to 350-375 before but for some reason it would not go over 300. I thought maybe my tank was low on fuel and maybe not enough pressure, so I put on my new full tank and it was the same. I've seen where lots of people have problems getting low temps with their GOSM but I've never had a problme with that, I've been able to get from 175 or lower during the winter all the way up to 350 plus. I could hear the flame, it didnt even sound like it was on full blast. Maybe I need to clean the burner?

I've had my gosm a few weeks now, and the hottest I've had it is around 375, don't think I need to go any higher, I'm not planning on baking cakes in it. I haven't had any issues like you mentioned, but you have to post all of the variables, was it windy that day, is your burner dirty, did you have enough water in the pan?

I know that there are variables to deal with, but do check your burner openings and all connections. Are you seeing a large flame? My big block will max-out at 450° on the bottom rack with the top vent wide open and the bottom vents closed to factory settings. But there again, I'm on the left/west coast. good luck my friend.

Full water pan, no wind, bout 60 degrees out. Just seemed like the burner was not working right, but how do you go about cleaning the burner? Or it was low on propane but like I said, brand new full tank and still had the same thing.

Find the air intake for the burner and make sure its not clogged with grease would be your first step. Follow the tube back from the burner, its a small slit with a screen, and a screw to rotate and adjust. If you need to adjust for a nice blue flame....on high I believe the tips should just be yellow.

I get mine up over 400° many times. Now I get it up really high and clean off anything left on the grates before every smoke.
