Hey guys, getting ready to smoke a pork butt tonight on the MES. Question is, is there much difference in cook time if you put the meat on the rack closest to the fire box? Could this also effect how much smoke the meat gets? I have always used the second from the lowest rack so am just curious. Thanks!

Have you ever checked to see what the temps are at each grate level? Is there any difference? I guess the main thing I would suggest is which ever rack you decide to put it on make sure you have a thermometer on that level so you know what the temps are at your meat level. That is unless you know what the temps are on each level.
