Has anyone done the external an tenna mod to an ET7?

I am looking at buying an ET7 http://www.amazon.com/Maverick-Remot.../dp/B00004SZ10.

I know about the mod for adding an external antenna to the ET73

but am wondering if the same can be done for the ET7?

I don't know about that thermometer in particular but I found a link on youtube for the one I have but I have been too chicken to try it yet. I have been trying to talk my brother into trying it first on his. hahaha I need to so something because the range stinks on my Redi Check.

Haven't done it yet to my thermometer but at some point I'll get to it, especially cause I just moved the charcoal smoker about 300' away and no way can I get a signal to run that far without modding it.
