Wasn't sure if I needed to post under UDS or Poultry....
Just finished it the other day and seasoned it.

Some killer grates off the job site dumpster.

Got it fired up.

Got the YB set in the smoke spa.

An hour and a half later.

3 hrs and 15 min later.

I keep buying cheap chickens...the wings fall off

Had some cajun seasoning, salt, pepper, and two had Franks Red Hot Sauce.
Came out pretty tasty for first time.
Total cost of UDS was $25.00 for lid, $5.76 for misc hardware, the rest was free.

looks like a chicken hot tub!!! looks great! is that outdoor faucets you used for air intakes? nice find on the dumpster dive btw!

lets eat! oh.. yeah... I don't have any of that great looking chicken...

kinda reminds me of nights sitting around a camp fire except for the beers not in that end lol

ps what kind of beer did you use
 
Nice chicken.

I'm guessing gate valves, cheaper than ball valves. Since they'll be closed most of the time, their slow and non-intuitive adjustment wouldn't be much of an issue.

Oh just great etcher1, I was in Fayettnam last weekend and last Tuesday and will be there next week but you just had to pick this weekend to smoke didn't ya? Actually I did get to make a stop at Penguin Ed's last Saturday on the way out of town.
 
Had make sure I didn't burn 'em up. Next time I give you a hollar.
Now I got to get the frig done. As soon as I get it done I will start on the big red tank.
I will definitely want to look at your smoker!
The gate valves were cheap enough when I went dumpster diving, an you are absolutely correct about the adjustment.

You were definitely better off going to Penguin Ed's, I can abuse a lot of meat on my smokers
